Another One Bites the Dust

In spite of the lovely help I received from the cats, this quilt is finally done. It only took 3 weeks from start to finish; not a bad time for me.
I may have figured out why it's so much harder quilting with my current sewing machine vs how easy it was on my old Singer. And more importantly, I think I've figured out how to make adjustments to compensate for a less powerful motor, a smaller throat, & an expensive walking foot that pushes the top fabric forward instead of feeding it even with the bottom layer.

  3. Gosh this is beautiful! Typically when I hear postage stamp, I think alternating prints with white, this is an awesome idea with the color, great job!

  6. Oh, lovely! I wondered about the cat comment in this post so scrolled down to see if you'd posted anything about them earlier. Sure enough. How funny (and probably sometimes frustrating, too) that they love your quilts. Partway through your previous post I was thinking that you could just make them a quilt for themselves and let them have it, but then came to your comment that they love works in progress but not the finished quilts. Humph!

I had an Airedale terrier who loved to help me with any projects I had in the works. Unfortunately, she waited till I wasn't around, then dragged out the quilt, or the embroider, or the crocheting. She never destroyed anything, just wanted to be involved with it. We joked that she really wanted to be able to do all these activities herself.

Thanks for sharing your gorgeous quilt. Great job!
